The MAMA/MCC 5th Annual Cars Under The Stars was a Huge Success!The 5th Annual Cars Under The Stars event on Friday & Saturday, March 2 & 3, 2012 was by all measures a huge success!! There were a record number of great event sponsors, a record number of guests that participated in Friday nights events, a record number of classic cars that were on display and a record number of spectators that viewed the antique, classic and special interest vehicles on display inside the Trade Mart Center in Jackson, MS on Saturday. It was by far the biggest, best and most successful event this far. The Mississippi Automotive Manufacturer's Association (MAMA) hosted the event as part of an ongoing effort to raise money for their scholarship program. With both Nissan and Toyota and many of their suppliers now having factories within Mississippi our state has benefited greatly from all the newly created opportunities. Our hats are off to MAMA for hosting such a great event. A special thank you is also in order for Lindsay Chappell, editor of Automotive News, our guest speaker for Friday evening. Mr. Chappell gave a very interesting update as to some of the many challenges still faced by many of the automobile manufacturers. The event organizers have already had a post show meeting to see what can be done to make the 2013 event even more memorable. We will keep you posted on the dates. |
